Camping and RVing in Chicago

Welcome to the closest KOA Campground to Chicago and O’Hare International Airport

A family campground with planned activities on weekends from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. (hay-wagon rides, movies, games, kids crafts, bingo and a lot more)

Have fun at Donley’s Wild West Town next door, visit the Illinois Railway museum, see Santa’s Village Azoosment Park, visit Six Flags Great America, cool off at Magic Waters near Rockford or in our own crystal clear pool in a friendly and quiet country setting, with long, leveled and mostly shaded pull-through 30/50 amps RV site, special tent sites, 7 Cabins and complementary Wi-Fi throughout the park.

Take the “Metra” train from nearby Crystal Lake or Woodstock to visit Chicago for sightseeing, festivals, and tours. We are also in a convenient distance to the Woodfield Mall, Prime Outlet Discount Mall, and the Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino. Various local restaurants are within minutes.

we drive up from south La. every summer and enjoy the campground, the new owners have made some improvements and the place is looking good.

      Hey Willie,

We are always happy when our guest enjoy our park, hopefully next year you will see even more improvements (not only the visitors policy)

      All the best

I believe we are fellow interns from the back home bakery, Mark told me you had settled into a KOA. Will you be there next season ? I motorcycle travel when I can & love the camper cabins. It would be great to know someone at the campground. Saw your post on the fresh loaf & thought I’d drop you a line.

      Hey Charlie,

Yep I was up in Kalispell twice and loved it. Mark and Sharon are great people and they have a wonderful place to live.
I have all intention to be at our KOA next summer too. Of course fellow TFLer and Back Home Bakery interns will get special treatment and probaly also a discount.

Let me know when you are ready to make reservations next year. Maybe by then I have sorted out the problems with the health department and can also sell my bread.

  • Looks great! Hope you had a wonderful season. We are juste back from Lake Tahoe and Yosemite
but I promise that next year I’ll drive north direction Chicago (still on our to do list) with family and dog (you accept dogs?). All the best Fabienne & family

    • Thomas

Thanks and that would be cool to reconnect in Chicago on a KOA. Dogs are welcomed as long they are not pitbulls etc.
Chicago will be different than Tahoe and Yosemite.

      See you soon!!

Well, I don’t speak German, but my grandparents did. Will I still be welcome? Hahahahaaaaa! That would be a fun trip, and since it would now be a chance for me to bump into my grandson from time to time, you just never know!

We love this KOA. Thomas, Sylvia, and all the work campers are great. Best campground in the NW Chicago area. We like to visit our relatives in the area and always feel like we’re coming home when we stay here. We’ll be back for May and June of 2014. Can’t wait to see you. Guests like you and Paul make it worthwhile to own a KOA campground. Thank you very much for your continuous support and we are more than happy to see you again in 2014.

Or do you have a train station nearby that we can drive safefly with the scooters?
